Buffalo Bore Heavy ammunition is loaded with the highest quality components to produce great accuracy and performance. From powder to bullet selection this load is made to be one of the best defense loads available. This ammunition is safe to fire in any firearm chambered in 44 Remington Magnum that is in safe working condition. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Owner of Buffalo Bore Tim Sundles on Lower Recoil 44 Magnum Ammunition:

There have been several requests for a full power 44 mag. Load that recoils substantially less than our other Heavy 44 mag. Loads, but will still penetrate deeply and be deadly on game animals.

When S&W introduced their model 329PD, we noticed that some of those scandium revolvers would experience sticky extraction with our Heavy loads and the recoil in the light weight scandium 329PD guns was horrendous, to say the least. This recoil would some times cause bullets to “jump crimp” thus tying up the revolver.

In order to alleviate the recoil, crimp jump and sticky extraction, we have developed this load. It is still full power, but uses a lighter weight, super hard cast, gas checked bullet and will still penetrate very deeply in big game despite its lighter weight. This load is ideal for those of you who carry the S&W model 329PD. This load will not lead your barrel.

This load falls well under SAAMI pressure specs and is safe to use IN ANY 44 Magnum providing your gun is in normal working condition.

Now there exists a serious full power 44 mag. load that will penetrate big bones (including a bears skull) and drive deeply into living organs and tissues, that has minimum recoil.

See the below ballistics fired out of my personal revolvers.

    • S&W 329PD (4 inch)—1264 fps
    • Ruger Red Hawk (5.5 inch)—1357 fps

Underwood Ammunition 44 Remington Magnum 200 Grain Hard Cast Wadcutter Box of 20

While taking advantage of state of the art testing equipment, this high performance ammunition by Underwood is field tested using popular, real firearms that customers are most likely to own out in the real world with all the elements you would experience. If for some reason Underwood Ammunition fails to meet performance expectations, Underwood stands by their product 100% and will make sure the customer is satisfied with every purchase. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Wadcutter bullets remain a popular choice for target shooting. All non-jacketed lead bullets, whether it may be cast, hard cast, wadcutter, etc. “smoke” to some degree due to the wax/lube needed in the manufacturing process. With high performance and velocity it is nearly impossible to stop this from happening. Higher chamber pressures, higher velocities, and higher temperatures mean more smoke in this case. All of Underwood Ammo rounds utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.

  • Hornady Custom Ammunition 44 Remington Magnum 200 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20

Hornady Custom Ammunition 44 Remington Magnum 200 Grain XTP Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20

Hornady custom-grade ammunition from the factory. Every round of Hornady Custom ammunition is hand inspected before packaging to ensure the highest levels of quality control. Hornady Custom ammunition is manufactured to give shooters and hunters the advantage of hand-loaded accuracy in a factory load. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Hornady XTP bullets were designed for hunting, self-defense, and law enforcement. One of the great things about the XTP bullet is reliable performance, it features controlled expansion where six serrations divide the bullet into six symmetrical sections. These sections weaken the jacket to allow controlled expansion at low velocities and ensures fragmentation does not occur at high velocities. The XTP bullet is really known for its stopping power. They were designed from the beginning to expand reliably at a variety of handgun velocities and deliver deep, terminal penetration with every shot. Most handgun bullets are designed to perform at a single factory-specified velocity where the XTP bullet is designed to offer controlled expansion over a range of velocities. Each XTP Bullet has a swaged core and drawn copper jacket to ensure uniform expansion and in-flight stability. Adding a cannelure to this bullet keeps the core and the jacket locked together while also allowing the cartridge case to tightly crimp, adding security at high velocities.

Buffalo Bore Ammunition 44 Remington Magnum 305 Grain Lead Long Flat Nose

Buffalo Bore Heavy ammunition is loaded with the highest quality components to produce great accuracy and performance. From powder to bullet selection this load is made to be one of the best defense loads available. This ammunition is safe to fire in any steel frame revolver or rifle chambered in 44 Remington Magnum that is in safe working condition. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Owner of Buffalo Bore Tim Sundles on Heavy 44 Magnum Ammunition:

Item 4A (305gr. Hard Cast gas Checked LFN) is designed for super deep penetration on large game. The big flat nose keeps the bullet penetrating straight and thus deep. You can expect a good three + feet of penetration. The flat nose also does considerably more damage than a round nosed type of bullet as the flat nose cuts and smashes it way through living matter, while round nosed bullets tend to slip and slide through matter, doing much less damage along the bullet’s path and achieving more shallow penetration due to getting sideways while slipping and sliding through matter.

You’ll note my below velocities from over-the-counter revolvers and rifles.

    • Ruger Bisley cut down to 6 inches——1328 fps
    • Ruger Red Hawk 5.5 inch—————–1331 fps
    • Marlin 1894 18.5 inch———————-1779 fps

Item 4A is recommended for all STEEL revolvers and rifles on today’s market. It is not suitable for scandium or aluminum alloy revolvers.

  • Buffalo Bore Dangerous Game Ammunition 44 Remington Magnum 265 Grain Lehigh Mono-Metal Lead-Free Box of 20

Buffalo Bore Dangerous Game Ammunition 44 Remington Magnum 265 Grain Lehigh Mono-Metal Lead-Free Box of 20

Buffalo Bore Dangerous Game ammunition is a line of mono-metal,  non-expanding, dangerous game loads. These “Dangerous Game” (DG) loads are super high quality, very powerful, and will live up to their namesake. Mono-metal bullets have a few advantages (a couple of disadvantages too) over typical non-expanding hard cast bullets. These advantages may or may not be meaningful to each individual, depending on your usage. The advantages are that they are cleaner burning/firing than hard cast bullets. Also, hard cast bullets can smear their nose profile when they hit large bones at close range/high velocity. When the flat nose smears and changes shape, it can impact straight line penetration. The disadvantages are cost and case capacity issues, mono-metal bullets made of copper or brass alloys are lightweight for their length.

Buffalo Bore loads their ammunition with the highest quality components available to maximize the performance of the ammunition. This ammunition is safe to use in all modern firearms that are in proper working condition. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Full Metal Jacket bullets are non-expanding, powerfully penetrative bullets that are designed with your woods defense needs in mind; whether fending off wild hogs or black bears, the FMJ-FN bullets are consistently effective in taking down any wild animals that you may encounter. In contrast to the round nose non-expanding bullets, the flat nose bullets are able to pierce through dense bodies of mass while maintaining their nose forward position; the nose forward position is optimal for maximum penetration. All of Underwood Ammo rounds utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.

The Underwood nickel plating process provides several key benefits including; improved feeding in all actions of firearms, enhanced corrosion resistance over traditional brass, improved cosmetics, and ease of cleanup during reloading. Nickel plated casings will not tarnish like brass during storage or when in contact with foreign materials such as leather, moisture, and other metals. Until the development of the Ducta-Bright 7a process, nickel plating casings often limited the number of reloads as compared to raw brass. It was claimed that nickel plated brass casings embrittled the brass therefor making it less desirable for reloaders despite the ease of cleanup that nickel plating offers. In addition, ammunition engineers raising concerns of using nickel plating in very hot +P or magnum loads found that traditional nickel plating often cracked deep-drawn cases, or worse, lead to a total failure. This new process eliminates any concern, to the shooter or reloader, of hazard or ability to re-use the brass.

This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable nickel plated brass cases.

The Underwood Xtreme Hunter (XH) was born from the incredibly popular Xtreme Defender product line. Like the XD, the Xtreme Hunter (XH) ammunition has an optimized nose flute. The difference is that weight and attained velocity have been optimized to achieve maximum penetration depth with a permanent wound cavity (PWC) that is just simply enormous. No expanding hollow point comes close to achieving anywhere near the diameter and volume of wound channel achieved by the Xtreme Hunter. Not only is the PWC over 100% larger than any other expanding bullet, terminal performance is achieved despite being shot through barriers. The solid copper body ensures that thick hide, bone, and any other barrier will have minimal effect on the Permanent Wound Channel.

Hard cast semi-wadcutter bullets are non-expanding, powerfully penetrative bullets that are designed with your woods defense needs in mind; whether fending off wild hogs or black bears, the hard cast flat nose bullets are consistently effective in taking down any wild animals that you may encounter. In contrast to the round nose non-expanding bullets, the flat nose bullets are able to pierce through dense bodies of mass while maintaining their nose forward position, which is optimal for maximum penetration. All non-jacketed lead bullets, whether it may be cast, hard cast, wad-cutter, etc. “smoke” to some degree due to the wax/lube needed in the manufacturing process. Hi-Tek coating allows you to enjoy the benefits of a hard-cast projectile and the cleanliness normally seen in copper jacketed/plated rounds. Hi-Tek is a polymer based compound that not only reduces fouling in your barrel, but also substantially reduces airborne lead contamination (allowing for use in some indoor ranges). The elimination of the wax lubrication combined with the reduced airborne lead contamination results in considerably less smoke produced with each shot. All of Underwood Ammo rounds utilize flash suppressed powder so that your vision will not be compromised if it becomes necessary to use your firearm in low light.
