Buffalo Bore Dangerous Game Ammunition 45-70 Government 380 Grain Lehigh Mono-Metal Lead-Free Box of 20

Buffalo Bore Dangerous Game ammunition is a line of mono-metal,  non-expanding, dangerous game loads. These “Dangerous Game” (DG) loads are super high quality, very powerful, and will live up to their namesake. Mono-metal bullets have a few advantages (a couple of disadvantages too) over typical non-expanding hard cast bullets. These advantages may or may not be meaningful to each individual, depending on your usage. The advantages are that they are cleaner burning/firing than hard cast bullets. Also, hard cast bullets can smear their nose profile when they hit large bones at close range/high velocity. When the flat nose smears and changes shape, it can impact straight line penetration. The disadvantages are cost and case capacity issues, mono-metal bullets made of copper or brass alloys are lightweight for their length.

Buffalo Bore loads their ammunition with the highest quality components available to maximize the performance of the ammunition. This ammunition is safe to use in all modern firearms that are in proper working condition. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

  • Buffalo Bore Smokeless Blackpowder Equivalent Ammunition 45-70 Government 405 Grain Jacketed Flat Nose Box of 20

Buffalo Bore Smokeless Blackpowder Equivalent Ammunition 45-70 Government 405 Grain Jacketed Flat Nose Box of 20

Buffalo Bore low pressure “Black Powder Equivalent” 45-70 loads are safe to use in “Trap Door” actions, assuming the action is in normal operating condition. Original (1873) 45-70 Govt. ammo was released to the military, in the military rifle of the day, which was the Springfield model 1873. SAAMI has set 45-70 pressure levels at 28,000 PSI, which is potentially enough pressure to damage trap door actions, depending on the pressure curve of the ammo. Most authorities believe that 18,000 to 20,000 PSI is safe for all trap door actions that are in normal operating condition. These loads are operating at or below 18,000 PSI.

We know from history that 45-70 loads of this power level literally pounded 2,000+ lb. bison. As bullet diameter increases, velocity and bullet expansion is less important in causing the bullet to be lethal to large animals, and a 46 caliber, (.458 inch) non-expanding bullet is very big, relatively, so this low pressure/low velocity 45-70 ammo is very lethal to big critters. Shooting most types of smokeless powders at low pressures causes dirtier burning as well, but still, smokeless powders burning dirty at low pressures are about 95% cleaner than black powder and smokeless powders remain non-corrosive, unlike black powder, which is very corrosive. Remember, these loads feature smokeless, completely non-corrosive powder. An added benefit to these BPE loads is that they recoil very little relative to high pressure/high power 45-70 ammo. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Buffalo Bore Sniper Ammunition 308 Winchester 175 Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Box of 20

Buffalo Bore loads this ammunition to achieve maximum accuracy. This translates into some lower velocities than what would be considered the maximum SAMI specifications. This load because of its lower pressure is safe to fire in any 308 Winchester firearm in normal operating condition. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Owner of Buffalo Bore Tim Sundles on Buffalo Bore 308 Winchester Sniper Ammunition:
At the time of this writing, (04-05-11) Buffalo Bore has been making this 308 Win. Sniper load, for 8 or 9 years. Until this time, I had neglected to write text on this web site for this load, so here are few particulars our customers may be interested in. We do not produce this load for maximum velocity, but for maximum accuracy. Our production lots of this product vary in velocity as we search for the most accurate combination of powder/bullet/brass from varying lot #’s. In my Springfield M1A National Match, (22 inch barrel) velocities from production batch to batch run between 2640 fps and 2700 fps. While this load was developed for maximum long range accuracy, it has great value as a hunting load. The Sierra 175gr. Match King is a fairly soft bullet that Sierra does not recommend for hunting, however, at our 308 Win. impact velocities, it mushrooms nicely on deer sized animals. Of course it mushrooms more violently at close range than it does at longer ranges. From 100 yards to 500 yards, it performs terminally just like you’d want a deer, black bear, antelope or hog bullet to perform. I would not shoot animals over 350 lbs with it, unless they were over 400 yards away, at which point the bullet will penetrate pretty deep because it is moving too slow to mushroom radically. This is a load I carry in my light weight bolt rifle (Kimber Montana) for general use and I have shot it a lot. If your rifle is accurate with this load, it is great for deer or hog hunting. This load is safe for use in ALL 308 Win. chambered firearms that are in normal operating condition.

Buffalo Bore Tactical Low Recoil Ammunition 10mm Auto 180 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Low Flash Box of 20

Buffalo Bore loads their ammunition up to maximum SAAMI specifications, which delivers devastating performance on a wide range of game. Please note that this ammunition is not intended for older guns. It is made for modern firearms only, as some of the ammunition could damage older and weaker firearms. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases.

Buffalo Bore full power loads were originally designed for outdoor uses such as hunting deer or stopping aggressive bears and these full power loads are wonderful for these types of applications. However, for general self defense, the excessive recoil and muzzle blast of turbo charged 10MM ammo becomes a disadvantage for fast follow-up shots needed for multiple assailants or armed human targets in general. Too much power/over-kill is not a bad thing, until you have to deal with the unnecessary recoil and muzzle blast/flash, which can put you at a tactical disadvantage. Buffalo Bore designed these new Tactical 10MM loads specifically to give every advantage to the user in the event that your 10MM pistol is needed in protecting you or loved ones against human threat. If your main purpose for carrying a 10MM pistol is outdoor usage, we suggest you stick with the full power 10MM (items 21A, 21B and 21C) loads. However, those of you who choose to carry a 10MM pistol for social purposes, would be best advised to carry these Tactical loads which are more than powerful enough to quell any human threat, but will offer you more control and faster, more accurate follow-up shots. Buffalo Bore Tactical loads utilize low-flash powders. This is an advantage should you be required to drop the hammer in low light, which is when most human predators are out and about.

  • Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel Ammunition 357 Magnum 158 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20

Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel Ammunition 357 Magnum 158 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Box of 20

Buffalo Bore loads their ammunition with the highest quality components available to maximize the performance of the ammunition. This ammunition is safe to use in all 357 Magnum chambered firearms with steel frames that are in proper working condition. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer primed, reloadable brass cases. If a shooter is recoil sensitive it is not recommended that this ammunition be fired from revolvers weighing less than 16 oz., due to the amount of recoil generated.:

Owner of Buffalo Bore Tim Sundles on Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel 357 Magnum Ammunition:

Typical full power 357 magnum loads offer several tactical problems for use in self-defense and duty applications, especially when used in the shorter/lighter revolvers that are typical of concealed, defensive and duty carry. First, the muzzle flash can be blinding, especially from short barrels. Second, felt recoil can be a life-threatening drawback if fast follow-up shots are required. Third, the level of report can be deafening and cause permanent hearing loss, especially if fired indoors.

All three Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel loads address the above problems and make the 357 magnum ideal for concealed, defensive and duty carry in smaller revolvers.

Muzzle flash: These exciting new 357 magnum loads utilize a flash suppressed powder that will not blind you, should you need to drop the hammer in a low light situation. It is estimated that over 90% of all defensive civilian shootings in the U.S. happen in low light-that is when the criminal element is at work.

Recoil: Felt recoil is exacerbated by the use of shorter barreled, smaller framed, lighter weight 357 revolvers, typically used for concealed and duty carry. The new Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel 357 loads are not the normal full power “barn burner”, 357 magnum loads we make and as such, felt recoil is substantially reduced, although they remain very powerful. Hence, deadly, and faster follow-up shots are more possible.

Your ears: Most folks don’t think of the level of “report” as being a problem during a life threatening/defensive shooting and that may be correct for the actual moment of conflict. However, to lose some of your hearing for the rest of your life, following the shooting incident, is unnecessary and undesirable. Full power 357 magnum ammunition is deafening, even more so when fired from short barrels and even worse if you are required to shoot from an enclosed area such as a vehicle or indoors. Buffalo Bore’s Tactical Short Barrel 357 magnum loads are not as hard on your hearing as full power ammunition. Although the use of hearing protection is still desirable, if possible, when using this ammo.

For those who wish to carry a 357 magnum revolver for potential “conflict resolution”, these new Buffalo Bore loads put an end to the “tactical” draw backs associated with our regular 357 magnum ammo. These loads are great for use in longer barreled firearms too. We could have reduced the recoil, flash and blast even more by “watering down” these loads further than we did, but then you wouldn’t have a real 357 magnum in your hands. So we looked for and found a balance between very powerful, fight stopping ammo that recoils and flashes much less than ours and some other makers, full power 357 loads. If we were to “water down” this “Tactical Short Barrel” 357 ammo any more, we would simply not manufacture it and suggest that you use our 38 SPL+P ammunition.

None of these loads caused crimp/bullet jump (in five shots) in my 12 OZ. Scandium S&W Model 340, but they did generate considerable felt recoil.

Item 19E/20-158gr. Jacketed Hollow Point, bullet @ 1,100fps from a 2.5 inch barrel. It is designed to mushroom, yet hold together and penetrate deeply-roughly 13 to 15 inches.
