Redding Competition 10X-Pistol and Small Rifle Powder Measure
Product Overview
The Redding Competition 10X-Pistol and Small Rifle Powder Measure was specifically designed to achieve the best metering possible at the targeted charge weight of approximately 10 grains. The accurate charge range of this measure is from 1 to 25 grains making it ideal for all popular pistol calibers and small rifle calibers such as the 17 Hornet and 5.7x28mm FN. The metering cavity was designed with a test tube-like bottom to ensure extremely consistent and accurate metering. This measure features a drum assembly that can be easily changed from right to left hand operation and can be adapted to some progressive reloading presses. Bench-front mounting bracket included.
Combines the special features of the Competition Model BR-30 with a drum and metering unit designed to provide the most uniform metering of small charge weights. To achieve the best metering possible at the targeted charge weight of approximately 10 grains, the diameter of the metering cavity was reduced and the metering plunger was given the unique hemispherical cup shape of the Redding Model BR-30, which created a specialized small capacity powder measure. Charge weights range from approximately 1 to 25 grains.
The 10X-Pistol Powder Measure’s drum assembly can be easily changed from right to left-handed operation.
Attachment: Bench-front mounting bracket included but can also be mounted on reloading presses with standard 7/8″-14 threads (Powder measure stand sold separately)
Powder Charge Thrown: Combines a special drum and small hemispherical metering plunger to achieve charges form 1-16 grain with a max of 25 grainsFeatures
- Designed specifically for handgun and small capacity rifle charges.

Redding Competition PR-50 Powder Measure
Product Overview
For years many manufacturers have taken the approach that one powder measure would do everything. It is a fact that any volumetric measuring device carries a sweet spot that is relative to the dimensions of its metering chamber. The greatest precision and repeatability is found within this sweet spot, with an increasing level of consistency degradation happening as charge weights move farther out of its range. Broad range measures are good throughout their range and great at points. Good has never been enough for Redding and while offering two highly recognized broad range powder measures, Redding began building specialized measures for a variety for shooting disciplines and cartridge types over a decade ago beginning with the BR-30, Competition 10x and more recently the LR-1000.
In that tradition the Competition PR-50 was engineered with a sweet spot from approximately 35 to 75 grains of most powders. This new measure completes the grouping with a total of four distinct powder measures, each optimized for incredible precision within a given range of charge weights. Beyond and efficient metering chamber design, consistent charges are assured by a precision ground drum, a honed metering chamber and a unique hemispherical micrometer adjustable plunger, which virtually eliminates powder voids caused when using long grain powders. The micrometer is designed to reduce backlash in its travel making for easily repeatable charge weights as well.

Remington Brass 204 Ruger Bag of 100
Remington cartridge cases are carefully drawn from specially-alloyed brass to provide consistently exact internal volume and resistance to case stretching and brittleness. Primer pocket tolerances are held to .001″, and closely monitored case neck annealing ensures easier re-sizing and longer reloading life. New, unprimed brass. This is not loaded ammunition. Bulk brass should be full-length sized, trimmed and chamfered before loading.
Brass Preparation: With bulk rifle brass you may sometimes notice a few case mouths are “out of round” or slightly dented below the shoulder. These imperfections occur in the final tumbling wash operation after the case mouth has been annealed. Brass manufacturers are aware of the case cosmetics and have worked to mitigate it, but due to equipment design, denting may still occur. Minor dents are normally removed in the first firing and will not affect case life or performance. On non-plated brass, you may also notice all the anneal stain might not be polished off, which may give the case neck a pinkish color. With some smaller caliber cases you may notice the case mouths to be slightly belled. With all new rifle brass, you should first straighten out the case and case mouth, then chamfer and debur the case mouth inside and out. To straighten the case mouth, run the case part way into the sizer die and let the expander ball straighten the brass. To prevent the case neck from stretching, be sure to lubricate the case neck inside the case mouth.
If you are using Nickel plated brass, special care must be taken to lubricate the cases prior to sizing them. Nickel plating is harder than brass and the cases require more effort in sizing. In the event a case becomes stuck, purchase a stuck case remover; don’t use pliers, screwdrivers or other common household tools which could damage your sizing die.
